We are pleased to retroactively announce the completion of our Annex renovation with building permits approved early this summer. Ark Valley Dental moved in the week of June 24th, Dr. Susan Davis and her patients are thrilled; as owners, we are grateful to have such wonderful tenants. The SLP Lab (Suzanne Henriquez, MA CCC-SLP) also occupies one of the two open suites. She is a certified speech and language pathologist licensed to operate in multiple states.
There's always a story so let me cover some of the highlights for you here. We were very fortunate to have our contractor Roberson Handyman Services oversee the project and preference our job priorities to keep the job moving forward. We also had great support from Integrity Electrical Services BV and Providence Plumbing--all previous electrical or plumbing lines and fixtures were removed and replaced with new ones from top to bottom. Every square foot of wallboard was removed or covered (the popcorn ceiling was covered with 1/2" sheetrock), freshly textured, and finished painted. Every door and handset is new, just like every finished detail. The resulting office spaces and entry through commercial glass doors lets you know that no detail was overlooked. Even Chaffee County Fire gave a same-day final to their inspection.
There can always be challenges, but construction is about working through problems and we did that too. The resulting completion was on time, and as you might expect over budget. The fact that Dr. Susan Davis exhibited good faith in us from the beginning was a blessing, so we returned that show of good faith with extreme efforts to exceed her expectations. My daughter Suzanne Henriquez kept a watchful eye on our execution and wanted a larger suite, and so it was natural that The SLP Lab also leased a suite in our Annex.
From our purchase date December 21, 2021, to the completion of our Annex took 29 months of planning and working through the three phases of our re-development. The Buena Vista Community Health Center has been thoroughly transformed into today's Peak Wellness Collaborative, which was dedicated to the community of Buena Vista on June 23rd, 2023 at our ribbon-cutting ceremony with Mayor Libby Fay alongside us.
It's been a blessing and a purposeful journey, which has drawn us into the community in many ways. We are grateful that a light was shown on us to take on this challenge, and we wish to thank our tenants who stepped forward to allow us to complete our vision.
