Last month on June 23rd, we hosted a grand opening celebration for Peak Wellness Collaborative which was promoted by the Buena Vista Chamber of Commerce and ourselves. Heather Rupska, Executive Director brought her staff to support this occasion and delivered opening remarks prior to the formal Ribbon Cutting which occurred shortly after our event opening at 3:30 pm. An expansive well watered lawn front and back is rare in our Town, and so it was our front lawn where we staged the event, and set our lawn chairs out.
The event was held one and a half years after our purchase from BVCHC, the non-profit that managed this facility for the entirety of this building's 65-year history up until we purchased from them and changed the concept from Medical to Wellness. We are happy to say the event was a huge success and widely attended. Those who attended were treated to barbecued pork ribs with assorted beverages on this sunny afternoon, while music played in the outdoor setting on the front lawn. Many children and adults entertained themselves by playing with the yard toys provided by the Buena Vista Public Library. The estimated turnout was around 140 people.
Mayor Libby Fay stood next to me during the ribbon cutting on one side and my wife Mary on the other side as we delivered remarks prior to the Ribbon Cutting. Mary got choked up because our journey is the culmination of answered prayers and a calling to be of service to the community that we both love so much. Over the course of her life, it was natural medicine and wellness that delivered healing after a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis over 30 years prior.
In the month since our event we've taken some time off, between phases of our development. We have the Annex yet to renovate, and that involves building permits. It's a good time to pause, gather ourselves, reflect on our journey, and enjoy the amazing summer in our beautiful mountain town.
It's often been said that a picture is worth a thousand words. This PWC Wheel of Wellness represents our accomplishment to date, that we now offer this variety and depth of treatment modalities at our facility. We are grateful this has happened in such a short
time, and there's more to come!
